New Maserati GranTurismo, GranCabrio get revised styling, more power

Maserati has just updated the GranTurismo and GranCabrio models. Both of them now come with revised styling and more power.

The new GranTurismo and GranCabrio feature a tweaked front fascia that is inspired by Maserati’s MCPura supercar. There are reshaped air intakes with a central splitter optimised to increase front downforce. At the rear, both cars now get clear-lens taillights for an enhanced look.

Powering the Trofeo variants is the familiar twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6, now pushed to 590 hp – an increase of 40 hp. Maserati has also tweaked the turbo boost pressure between 5,000 and 7,200 rpm, resulting in a stronger, more linear surge all the way to the redline.

Wait, there’s more. The exhaust has been reworked to deliver a richer, more engaging soundtrack, while the 8-speed automatic gearbox has been recalibrated for quicker, more responsive shifts.

Interestingly, Maserati has also added a new ‘country’ drive mode. Designed for less-than-perfect roads, it raises ride height by 25 mm and softens the suspension and throttle response. A small touch, but a useful one.

Inside, the updates continue with improved materials and new metal gear selectors featuring haptic feedback. Subtle changes, but they do elevate the entire experience.
