New Audi A6 Allroad is here with 4×4, all-wheel steering & plug-in hybrid

The Audi A6 Allroad is back in a new avatar, which feels like a purposeful machine rather than just a raised estate. It’s bigger, tougher, and far more capable than the standard A6.

The biggest change lies underneath. The Audi A6 Allroad gets a heavily reworked chassis with a bespoke suspension and steering setup. Ride height is up by 34mm as standard, and thanks to adaptive air suspension, it can rise even further when needed. There’s also a Dynamic mode that lowers the car for better stability, while it automatically drops at higher speeds to improve efficiency.

Audi has also worked on making it feel sharper to drive. Stiffer steering mounts and optional rear-wheel steering promise better agility, especially for a car of this size.

Visually, the Allroad is wider than before, with chunky cladding. It has a more aggressive grille and added elements like skid plates and roof rails. Larger wheels and a broader stance give it proper presence on and off the road.

Under the hood, buyers get a choice. There’s a mild-hybrid 3.0L V6 diesel producing 295 hp and 428 lb ft or a plug-in hybrid setup, which is a 2.0L petrol engine accompanied by an electric motor and a 20.7 kWh battery. This provides a total of 362 hp and 369 lb-ft, and an electric-only range of 59 miles.
