Aston Martin has issued a recall for the Valkyrie, its flagship hypercar, over a serious safety issue. The British brand is concerned about a potential brake-related problem that could surface under intense track use.
It has been reported that this issue affects only those Valkyrie models which are equipped with the optional track pack. Under certain driving conditions, the brake master cylinder seals may deform, preventing brake fluid from returning properly to the reservoir once the pedal is released. In simple terms, this can cause the brakes to drag, thus building heat rapidly within the system.
Aston Martin notes that excessive temperatures could, in rare cases, reach a point where components like the carbon-fibre rear brake cooling duct are at risk of catching fire. It’s a scenario tied specifically to aggressive track driving, and not typical road use.
There is, however, a layer of reassurance. The Valkyrie’s dual diagonal braking system means that even if one circuit is affected, the other remains functional, allowing the car to be brought to a controlled stop.
Reports say that to resolve this issue entirely, Aston Martin will use updated brake master cylinders supplied by Alcon Components.
Only a small batch of cars built between late 2023 and late 2024 is impacted.
