General Motors recently held its annual automotive conference in Las Vegas. Apparently, there have been discussions about the future of the C8 Corvette, more specifically, two new variants that are due in 2027.
According to a recent leak, the Corvette Grand Sport and Grand Sport X will be arriving sometime next year. In fact, one of these was spotted on the Angeles Crest Highway in California during a photoshoot in early February.
Rumors suggest that the Grand Sport X will be powered by the new LS6 6.7-liter V8 engine paired with a front axle-mounted electric motor. It could have a combined output of 720 hp.
The Grand Sport range will slot in below the ZR1 and ZR1X. While the latter is the most extreme version of the current generation ‘Vette, the Grand Sport will offer decent levels of performance in a more affordable package.
