Jay Leno on Ferrari Luce, “Looks like an EV but not like a Ferrari”

It’s been a while now since the Ferrari Luce broke cover. Many of us gave our opinions on the Italian brand’s first EV. In fact, even insiders were pretty open about the electric vehicle while sharing their views publicly.

Recently, Commissioner David Lee, who is a Ferrari Ambassador, car collector, and an entrepreneur, spoke to Jay Leno, an American television host and comedian, and also runs a series called Jay Leno’s Garage, about the Ferrari Luce.

Leno said that the Luce looks like an electric car; it just doesn’t look like a Ferrari. He continues to point out that it is not an unattractive car. He said, “Ferrari is a sports car, and a station wagon is a station wagon. A station wagon that’s half a sports car and can also carry a surfboard… I don’t like cars that do a lot of things.”

Lee also chipped in and commented that it takes a few years to develop a car and produce a car. So, it’s not like they can react to what’s happening now. They must have started planning the Luce maybe 7 years ago.

The Luce is Ferrari’s first-ever EV. It has four electric motors that provide a total of 1050 hp. The car can sprint from 0-62 mph in 2.5 seconds, and from 0-124 mph in just 6.8 seconds. Ferrari is currently accepting bookings for the Luce, which has a starting price of $640,000.
